Our History
The Global Association of Economics Education (GAEE) was established in 2017 to advance economics education and financial literacy among students in developing countries and marginalized communities. Recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the United States and as the #SDGAction36897 by the United Nations, GAEE has grown into a major student-led contributor to the global movement for economics education reform. Driven by a commitment to democratize economics education, GAEE India was founded in August 2020 as the first South Asian chapter of GAEE International. Since its inception, GAEE India has built a vibrant network with chapters at prominent universities, including Hansraj College, Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi Technological University, and Jamia Millia Islamia, reaching over 400 students nationwide. The chapter has partnered with distinguished organizations and experts to deliver impactful workshops, training sessions, quizzes, and discussions on economics, finance, entrepreneurship, consulting, and policy. Entering its fifth year in operation, GAEE India looks forward to expanding its reach and impact and continuing to empower students and communities across the country
With a drive for growth and a common aim of democratizing economics education, GAEE India (formerly GAEE North India) was founded in August 2020 as the first Indian chapter of GAEE International.
GAEE India has collaborated with various imminent organisations and personalities to conduct numerous training workshops, sessions, quizzes and enriching discussions pertaining to economics, finance, entrepreneurship, consulting and policy issues. We look forward to the continuous growth of GAEE India in the years to come.
Our Vision
GAEE India strives to create an inclusive and dynamic platform where college students from all backgrounds can bridge the gap between economics education and real-world application. Through engaging workshops, events, and discussions, we aim to equip our members with practical knowledge in economic theory, personal finance, and entrepreneurship. Our vision is to open access to quality economics education for students across India, challenging the notion that these fields are reserved for a select few and fostering a diverse, empowered community of future leaders

Aanya Narula
Chairperson, GAEE India
Aanya Narula is the Chairperson at the Global Association of Economics Education. She is pursuing a B.A. (Hons) in Economics at Miranda House, University of Delhi. With experience in research, policy, and finance, she has worked across academic and policy organizations, contributing to research, strategy, and knowledge initiatives in economics.
Prabhat Mahato
Vice Chairperson, GAEE India
Hi, I’m Prabhat. I’m a second-year BCom (Hons) student at SRCC. I started out as a PCM student and have always enjoyed maths, but over time I found myself more drawn to finance and how numbers translate into real decisions. I like understanding how things work beneath the surface, whether that’s markets, businesses, or data. Outside academics, I’m usually watching a good series or heading out for a hike when I need a break. I enjoy learning, exploring new perspectives, and keeping things balanced between work and what I enjoy.
Vanshika Bakshi
Secretary, GAEE India
Serving as the General Secretary of GAEE India, I see my role as one that brings people, ideas, and action together. At GAEE India, I aim to strengthen collaboration, drive meaningful initiatives, and build systems that help our members grow and create impact. I’m passionate about contributing to a community that is inclusive, forward-thinking, and committed to learning, leadership, and long-term change while being a finance enthusiast, currently pursuing BBA in Financial Investment Analysis at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, University of Delhi.

I am a second-year IPM student at IIFT and currently serve as the Director of Information Systems at GAEE India. GAEE has been a space of creativity, growth, and collaboration for me. Having had a fun and fulfilling experience as an associate last year, stepping into this leadership role feels incredibly rewarding. I look forward to collaborating with the talented team at GAEE India and contributing to an impactful year ahead.
Charu Anuraj
Director of Research
GAEE India, for me, has been a space to explore research beyond coursework and understand how economic questions translate into real-world discussions. As Director of Research, I hope to build stronger research practices across chapters and enable students to produce work that is both rigorous and relevant to real-world economic issues. Beyond GAEE, I’m pursuing Economics Honours at Daulat Ram College and am particularly interested in development economics and financial consulting.
Gayatri Kar

As the Director of Student Relations, I focus on fostering collaborative growth and keeping student engagement active across chapters. My aim is to expand GAEE’s reach by bridging academic perspectives with practical exposure and real-world impact minus the jargon overload. I am an Economics student at Daulat Ram College.
Arshita Sharma

As the Director of Corporate Relations, I’m excited to build meaningful partnerships that help our initiatives grow and reach wider audiences. For me, it’s not just about outreach, it’s about creating lasting value and opening doors for more students to engage with economics in fresh and practical ways. When I’m not working on that, I’m pursuing IPM at IIM Jammu and exploring the world around us!
